Polaroids From My Pencil

This project began as a way to carve out a quiet moment of reflection and creativity for myself in a non-stop season of life. Before I began, I felt frustrated that I would get to the end of each day and realize that I had been pouring into everyone's cups from a nearly empty pitcher. I decided to take 10-20 minutes each night and think of a funny, simple, or tender moment from the day and quickly illustrate it pencil instead of posting a photo online. I've consistently kept up the practice and now have hundreds of sketches that I occasionally take time to refine and paint. Below are just a few painted polaroids and rough pages from my sketchbooks. The biggest surprise from committing to this project is the newfound gratitude I feel for each fresh day. There is ALWAYS good to be found when you are looking for it. Try it for yourself and discover the magic!
